Herbal medicine is a very effective way to treat animals and can often correct underlying imbalances while keeping internal organs healthy. Herbal medicine for pets is used in the same manner as it is with humans, with the exception that pet owners should only use herbal substances under the direction of a knowledgeable alternative veterinarian. There are many, many variables, and only an experienced practitioner will be familiar with and have a thorough understanding of which herbs and combinations of herbs, dosage levels and duration of use are appropriate for an animal's particular condition.
